Join us for a day of color and hue with Karen Aguiar. We will explore extracting gradations of color from Turmeric, Madder root, Dyer’s Polypore and Old Man’s Beard using mordants and modifiers. As a part of class, we will prepare plants to add to our dye pots to create samples swatches using wool yarn. We will also have a silk scarf for you to dye as well. Bring an apron or wear clothes you don’t mind getting splashed with a new color.

This class will take place at a private residence amongst the redwood tress in the Occidental area. A simple but divine lunch of bread, soup and salad will be served. Feel free to bring snacks for yourself or to share. The address and directions will be sent out to participants one week prior to class, so please provide an email and phone number that we can reach you on.

*** Please note that class will need a minimum of six participants to run. In the unlikely event that the class does not fill, we will inform you by email a week prior.
